As a native New Yorker, Brad Stein began exploring photography as a teenager at the International Center of Photography. He continued at the University of Denver where he pursued both Marketing and Photography degrees. Moving back to New York, he found himself in the world of Advertising as a commercial producer creating commercials for MasterCard, BMW and UPS among others. After years of collaboration with many creatives and directors, Brad decided to pickup his camera and apply his vast understanding of marketing, photographic technique and theory. With his love for architecture, design and an infatuation with meeting new people, he began photographing stories for Elle Décor magazines, Architectural Digest, New York Times, Travel + Leisure, and Vanity Fair.
Brad’s current personal project entitled: A Portrait Of seeks to photograph, document and create environmental portraits of people who have found (or seem to at least) a way of living with purpose by doing something they love. In creating images and portraits of these inspiring people from all walks of life (artists, farmers, architects, activists, entrepreneurs etc.), Brad’s hope is to share the story of who they are and what sparks joy in their lives.
